Mason was one of the greatest gifts God gave us. We are thankful for every second of the 6 years and 18 days we had him on this earth. On September 28, 2014 he was welcomed into the presence of Jesus. And every day since, we have seen how God works the good in all things, even in our intense pain.
While September 10 brings with it a multitude of emotions over the little boy no longer here to celebrate, we desire to bring an abundance of joy to CHLA in honor of Mason. Mason's birthday plans were always grand and generally involved inviting everyone he knew and getting as many presents as possible. So in the spirit of all things Mason, our hope for his birthday this year is as many presents as possible for as many children as possible.
Because of the generous hearts of some very dear friends, a home for orphans is being established in India, in honor of our son. Mason's Place is a beautiful reminder of how God redeems our pain and loss for beauty and hope.
the bigger story
We have great peace in knowing that God is writing a bigger story with Mason's life than we could ever imagine. And we trust in a sovereign God who knew the exact number of days Mason would live on this earth.
"All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
"But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before."
